She holds a BFA in illustration with a minor in animation from the College for Creative Studies and brings nearly 20 years of multimedia design experience, having worked with major brands like Little Caesars, the NFL, Detroit Riverfront Conservancy, Foot Locker, and more.

She attributes her love of coffee to Riss, as well as sleepless nights nursing their little one. Riss brings years of experience and a meticulous eye for quality to every batch of beans. In her 12+ years in coffee roasting and shop operations, she has helped others start and run their shops. Her deep knowledge and dedication ensures each cup served at Eastside Roasterz is a testament to the art of specialty coffee.

She also has extensive knowledge in management and experience with some of today’s top leading cosmetic brands. Christian Hawkins, a former military professional, discovered the power of routine during her time in service. After her military career, she knew that helping people feel better in their skin was her life mission.
