COVID-19 Response and Policy

The safety of our members, guests and teams is paramount, and we have introduced a clear set of standards that we will adhere to closely. We are also committed to implementing all appropriate health and safety measures in line with local government regulations.

IF YOU ARE FEELING UNWELL: If you or your guest are unwell, please do not visit BasBlue until you are feeling better. We ask that you stay home if you:

  • Have been in contact to someone with COVID-19 during the prior 14 days.
  • Fever of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or higher.
  • Undergoing evaluation for COVID-19 infection.
  • Are experiencing any symptom of COVID-19 such as fever, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, body aches, headaches, loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.

COVID-19 Vaccination Policy

To protect our BasBlue community, and in consideration of guidance released by the City of Detroit Health Department, Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, and U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), BasBlue is implementing a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for its members, guests, and workforce. BasBlue is committed to protecting members, guests, staff and our community from COVID-19.

MEMBER POLICY: All BasBlue Members are required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a term and condition of membership unless an exemption or deferral has been approved. All Members shall be required to report their vaccination status and to provide approved documentation as proof of receipt of the vaccine. All new Members shall be required to provide proof of their vaccine status during the application process for membership. Fully Vaccinated—individuals are considered fully vaccinated 1) two weeks after their second dose in a 2- dose series (such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines); 2) two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine); or 3) has received an World Health Organization (WHO) approved vaccination in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. All records of vaccinations and approved exemptions will be maintained by the Membership + Community Manager.

GUEST POLICY: All BasBlue guests and visitors are required to be fully vaccinated as a condition of entry to our facilities unless an exemption or deferral has been requested and approved. All guests shall be required to report their vaccination status either in advance of their visit or to the BasBlue receptionist upon entry into our space. Guests are invited to complete the full visitor check-in process with our receptionist so we can note that you have visited our space and are fully vaccinated in our records. Fully Vaccinated—individuals are considered fully vaccinated 1) two weeks after their second dose in a 2- dose series (such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines); 2) two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine); or 3) has received an World Health Organization (WHO) approved vaccination in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.

EMPLOYEE POLICY: All BasBlue employees are required to have or obtain a vaccination as a term and condition of employment unless an exemption or deferral has been approved. All employees shall be required to report their vaccination status and to provide approved documentation as proof of receipt of the vaccine. All new employees shall be required to provide proof of their vaccine status prior to the start of their employment. Fully Vaccinated—individuals are considered fully vaccinated 1) two weeks after their second dose in a 2- dose series (such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines); 2) two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine); or 3) has received an World Health Organization (WHO) approved vaccination in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions. All records of vaccinations and approved exemptions will be maintained by the Operations Manager.

APPLIES TO: The COVID-19 Vaccination Policy applies to all BasBlue employees, members, and guests. In the interest of equity and our mission to protect our communities, this policy applies to employees regardless of whether they work on-site or remotely, unless the individual qualifies for an exemption as provided herein. Exemptions may be provided to those who (1) have certain medical conditions; and (2) on the basis of a strong religious or sincerely held spiritual belief.
