Open Call for Michigan-Based Women and Non-Binary Artists

BasBlue, located in the heart of Historic Midtown Detroit, is excited to announce our inaugural open call for artwork! We’re inviting women and non-binary artists from across Michigan to submit original works that explore and express “The Concept of Home.”

At BasBlue, we believe in the power of representation and inclusivity in the arts. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just beginning your creative journey, your voice matters—and your work deserves to be seen.

Submission Details

  1. Submit up to 2 original artworks that reflect the theme
  2. Only 1 work per artist will be selected for display
  3. The first 60 completed applications will be considered (first come, first served)

We can’t wait to see how you interpret home—as a place, a memory, a feeling, or something entirely your own.

Guidelines for submission

  • 2D / Wall mounted works must not exceed 48″ in either direction. (Note: Optimal dimensions 36” x 24” or smaller)
  • Wall mounted work MUST be ready to hang from picture hanging wire. (Note: cleats, screws, or other mounting methods will not be accepted)
  • 3D / Sculptural or tabletop works must not exceed 18″ deep. (Note: there is limited space for 3-dimensional works)
  • Artists will be responsible for delivery to and from BasBlue.All works must remain on view for the entire duration of the exhibition and must be for sale.
