Shady Lanes Wine Tasting

Join us for our complimentary Wine Tasting that takes place during our BasBlue happy hour.  We will be featuring a rotating selection of industry professionals (i.e., wine distributors, importers, and the occasional winemaker) in collaboration with Shady Lanes.

Nestled just north of Traverse City, Shady Lane Cellars is a boutique, estate winery. We produce
several cool climate varietals grown from 70 acres of grapes including the original Riesling and
Pinot Noir, and additional plantings of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Blaufränkisch, Pinot Gris,
Gewurztraminer and other delicious grape varieties.
We are a SIP certified winery (Sustainability in Practice) and earned this certification in 2020.
Most of our wines are also vegan. Taking care of the planet and the community around us is very
important to our craft.
At Shady Lane, we strive to cultivate an expression of time and place in each of our wines. Seeking
to capture the true nature of our cool climate, our wines are expressively vibrant, refreshing and
pair well with a range of foods. Winemaker, Kasey Wierzba creates our wine with a philosophy
focused on expressing the natural flavors and aromas of the fruit balanced with a precision that is
ushered through science and technique. We produce 7,000cases of wine in a single year, making
each bottle special, unique and limited.

The wine tastings are complementary to members.  Shady Lanes will take orders for wine sales on-site, and members can pick up their orders within a week (assuming the wines are in stock) and no later than a month’s time.

Please note that BasBlue requires all members/applicants to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Fully Vaccinated — individuals are considered fully vaccinated 1) two weeks after their second dose in a 2- dose series (such as the Pfizer or Moderna vaccines); 2) two weeks after a single-dose vaccine (such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine); or 3) has received an World Health Organization (WHO) approved vaccination in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.
