BasBlue Member Meetup @ Eastern Market After Dark (Detroit Month of Design)

It's Finally September AND it's Detroit Month of Design! Specifically Eastern Market After Dark (EMAD) on September 21st is back!

We had a very successful and fun visit to the DIA last month and, in keeping with the out and about theme, let's take this show on the road to Eastern Market to see what's to see!

Thursday, September 21st
5:30-6:30pm: Meet up at Eastern Market Brewing (2515 Riopelle St, Detroit, MI) for a drink! BasBlue's Community Engagement Specialist, Shaquira Simmons will be there to meet you! 

6:30-9:30pm: Explore Eastern Market After Dark together (feel free to stay out longer, it lasts officially until 11)

This year's Eastern Market After Dark (EMAD) is presented by the Gilbert Family Foundation and is the signature event of the annual Detroit Month of Design. EMAD showcases an array of talented artists, businesses and musicians. Visitors will be treated to a district-wide night market and open-studio featuring: galleries, retailers, brand activations, and live music. Established in 2012, EMAD has grown to be a highly anticipated part of our yearly programming, drawing over 30,000 attendees in 2022 and highlighting a range of emerging and established designers.

Design Core Detroit champions design-driven businesses and their role in strengthening Detroit’s economy. It offers services to strengthen, grow and attract design businesses, increases market demand for design services, and tells Detroit’s design story locally and globally. Design Core is a department within College for Creative Studies.

Design Core serves design-driven industries that specialize in design or utilize design as a central discipline of their business strategy. As the steward of Detroit’s UNESCO City of Design designation, Design Core serves as the convener and backbone organization for the Detroit City of Design initiative.
